What Happens If You Don’t Harvest Your Microgreens?

Posted on May 2, 2021

Most gardeners have learned that microgreens are much better for their gardens than ordinary vegetables. There are several reasons for this, but the main reason is because microgreens are easier to get at. You can grow your own microgreens at home just as easily as you can get your ordinary spinach from the supermarket. In this article I’ll explain what happens if you don’t harvest your microgreens.

It’s not hard to plant spinach and microgreens. If you’ve grown your microgreen crop from seeds you probably knew that you had to plant the seeds indoors. You didn’t have much room outdoors so you planted your microgreen in a small container. What happens if you don’t harvest your microgreen? Well, the first thing that will happen is that the microgreen will start to die. The first sign that your microgreen is going to die is that the leaves on your plants will fall off.

How will you know that your microgreen is dying? The first sign that your leaves will fall off is when you look at your plants. Usually the leaf on the top will be the first to fall off. What happens if you don’t harvest your microgreens? This doesn’t mean that your microgreens won’t ever come back.

Just because the leaves on your plants are falling off doesn’t mean that they are gone. You can still expect to get some good use out of your microgreens. You can always try re-potting your microgreens after they die. There are different ways to do this. If you just live in a dry area then you might not have to worry about this problem.

What happens if you are in a flood or hurricane? Most things survive but some things don’t. When you get a lot of rain or floods your microgreens will need to be re-potted more than once. This is especially true for plants that have multiple leaves.

In the event that you have a plant that dies it might seem like nothing has happened. However, if this is a common occurrence in your garden you should take action as soon as you can. Harvesting your microgreens can be difficult in the event that you don’t have someone who knows how to harvest them. Fortunately, there are people who know how to harvest the leaves off of your plants. Once you harvest your microgreens you should make sure to store them properly so that they don’t die.
