How to Choose the Best Color Light For Growing Microgreens

Posted on May 11, 2021

You have two choices when it comes to choosing the best color light for growing microgreens. They are either going to be blue or purple. Well, they grow perfectly in either one, but what you really want is something that is going to provide your plants with just enough of the proper nutrition so they can grow to be healthy and beautiful. Here are some of the things you need to consider.

Microgreens are a vine type plant that has tiny red, carrot like leaves. It has six stems and a single root ball. It grows best in sunny areas, but will also do well if you put it under a shade cloth in the winter. It will grow like crazy if you only allow it to get the amount of sunlight it needs.

This is because the roots are very sensitive to light. You will need to have a T3 or fluorescent bulb. These don’t give off a lot of heat, but they do produce lots of light. That is what they are using to grow.

The key to making this type of plant does well be watering it very often. Microgrowths do not like to be watered at all. You should water them once a week, no more than that. If you do it more than that, you will flood the plants of all the nutrients they need to grow. And flooding them is not good for them.

Microgrowths are not like your ordinary plants and flowers in that they need to have direct sunlight, but they don’t need to have it all day long. You should place them in your garden in the morning, after the sun has just come up. During the afternoon you should place them in the shade. At night you should place them in a dark room. Don’t try to expose them to direct sunlight during the winter months.

If you do plan on putting them into a greenhouse, then the best color light for growing microgreens is a grow lamp. These will get them to grow to their maximum potential. There are many different grow lamps on the market. They vary in price and intensity.

You should make sure the one you buy is not too intense. It might be too hot. Or it might not produce enough light for the plants. This is where a fluorescent bulb would be a better choice. If you don’t know which one to get, then ask someone with knowledge to help you out.

The best color light for growing microgreens is a fluorescent bulb. You will also need to purchase the growing medium. Microgreens can be grown in any type of medium; however they grow best in nutrient-rich media. The growing medium is what will help your plants to develop properly.

When choosing your light source, don’t use the standard light bulb. They give off too much heat. It is better to use a grow lamp with a high wattage bulb. They will provide more light, but the energy usage is going to be higher. If you plan to grow more than one plant, then you will have to get a fluorescent system or use a timer.

If you want to use a timer when growing your microgreens, then purchase a timer that will start at a time. Set the timer to go on when you take a break from working or when you get home from work. Also check the bulbs. Some grow lamps have a lower wattage bulb. These are specially made for growing microgreens.

You will find that you will have to water your plants more often when they are in the flowering stage of growth. This is because they use less water as they are smaller. Make sure you water them daily during the flowering season. When they are fully grown, you can begin to supplement the water by using a good organic garden fertilizer. Make sure you use one that does not contain any harmful chemicals.

The best thing about growing microgreens is that they are easy to grow. In addition, they are full of wonderful flavor. Your family will love eating them. You can feed them from your plan table greens or use store bought pellets. Microgreens are also available at many health food stores and nurseries.
