Can You Survival On Microgreens?

Posted on May 13, 2021

Microgreens, as they are also known, are very small, sporty blue-green plants that have been grown for their edible parts only. They grow well in most kinds of soil and can even be grown in your own backyard. They have been called the miracle plant, because they are said to be able to survive even on a very small amount of food. Can you survive on microgreens? Can you really make your own juice out of them? These are the questions I will try to answer.

To answer the question, Can you survive on microgreens? – There are two ways by which you can grow these little beauties. One is by growing them from cuttings taken from other plants. The second is by growing them directly from the leaves of the micro green plant.

Microgreens come from the roots of the spinach plant. It has been said that in ancient times the Chinese were the first ones to start cultivating these plants. The best time to grow microgreens is during late summer and early fall when the leaves of this plant are just about to turn colors from purple to orange. If you wish to grow these plants is to plant them directly into a sunny and well-drained location but try to avoid planting them in a potting mix because it will require more frequent watering.

Can you survive on microgreens? – You may have to do some work if you wish to grow these plants well. For one, you need to ensure that the soil where the microgreens are growing is very acidic and rich in nutrients. You can do this by adding lime and potting soil or you can use bone meal as fertilization material.

Can you survive on microgreens? – The other important question when it comes to growing microgreens is how to preserve its fresh form. The best way to do so is by cutting the long leaf plants in the autumn leaves. The reason why the leaves get broken off is because they contain chlorophyll which serves as the natural food source for the microgreens. You can also make a simple paste out of crushed green leaves. This paste can then be applied to the plant’s leaves and eaten like candy.

Can you survive on microgreens? – You should also know that microgreens are very easy to eat. You can simply grab a good sized piece of this plant’s leaves and bite into it with your teeth. Its freshness should last for about an hour.
